Our R&D&i procedure, called INTER, aims to complete the following 5 basic steps

Research

This is about carrying out market research, a preliminary step to stay on top of trends which, in turn, allows us to innovate in our products.

The R&D&i Department is in a constant process of development amid the search for new ingredients and products, new uses and culinary processes, and new formulations, as well as the legal framework applicable to each product.

Needs

We analyse our customers’ needs and value responding to the trends each of them demands, such as the country of origin of our products—that they be allergen-free, clean label, cooking style, animal welfare, environmentally friendly, vegan or flexitarian, etc.

Technology

Once a product idea is on the table, based on the information obtained, a product prototype is developed in the pilot plant and kitchen, and we analyse the technology required to replicate the product at an industrial level. The process flow is designed during this stage, applying HACCP principles to ensure product safety at all times.

Expectations

The pilot plant and kitchen allow us to obtain a sufficient sample in a short space of time so that the customer can test the product in its expected use and assess whether it meets their expectations.

Review

Once the product is on the market, we check that the product meets expectations and apply the principles of ongoing improvement.

INTERMEAT is committed to researching and creating new products that complement its current offer. In this sense, we have been working for years on a new 100% plant-based product line, with quality and flavour as the main axis.
